Do-it-yourself Farm Tour

Many of the courses and tours I’ve designed and delivered have included UBC Farm. In the past, I have enlisted one of the UBC Farm staff to join us as they know a lot more about the cows, chickens, bees, the market garden, the public and academic programs, the research… But now, those clever farmers have come up with a way for everyone to tour the farm and get the kind of detail you would on a personally guided tour. According to the Facebook post I got recently, the UBC Farm Audio Tour includes “13 stories narrated by different farm staff and volunteer members, plus a forestry tour.” Best to bring your smart phone, but if you don’t have one, the farm will lend you an audio device. Just check in at the Farm Centre to get your map. UBC Farm is open Tuesday to Saturday, from  9am-5pm.
