SSHRC-ing my Responsibilities

I’m working on a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council grant or SSHRC, pronounced shirk for short. Those of you who have done a Masters or a PhD will know what I’m talking about and will empathize with me. It’s a monster – with many moving parts. And the deadline is this Monday. Or that is the deadline in my department. So in addition to climbing a steep learning curve because the library no longer has a card catalogue, and trying to keep up on course work, I am frantically trying to put this grant together. Before I have learned anything, let alone landed on a research topic. Welcome to grad school. So just in case I disappear for a few days, you’ll understand why I’m shirking my blogging duties.
