Aztecs & Arbutus Assemblage

I have begun to assemble this little piece; a companion for the macrame in my bathroom. I’ve pulled out all the bits and pieces I thought might work as a shadow box of little memories. Wood boxes and panels for a possible frame and a beaded divining tool I made when I took part in a sweat lodge one weekend that might work as a hanger. Shells, bits of Arbutus bark and burlap. A moldy Aztec (?) hieroglyphic piece that used to hang outside in my balcony garden is to be the centrepiece. It was a gift from a friend and I’ve always loved it. I did a teal watercolour wash over it to try to preserve it. I know it will come together eventually, just haven’t hit on the right assemblage yet.
