Fabric Art

Pre-covid, I was taking some fabric art courses at Maiwa. They were supposed to be introductory, but I quickly realized I was in a room full of artists. I wound up weeping in the bathroom at noon, I was so petrified. I didn’t know how to use any of the tools. Had never even seen a water colour brush pen, let alone used one. But I had a talk with myself and decided to fess up to the instructor about my being an actual actual beginner. I needed to ask for help. She jumped right in to help me with the various tools. After that, it was just fun. Guided activities and a room full of materials to play with. Sadly, post covid, Maiwa is only offering online courses and they are only on dying. But I learned some solid basics in the courses I took and purchased a few supplies to use at home. Here’s one sample I created during one course. A book cover perhaps?
