Step Up

Back in 2005, I pitched an idea for a series of regional and international sustainability tours to Mark Roseland at the SFU Centre For Sustainable Community Development (CSCD). We developed “Green Scenes” and promoted it at the World Urban Forum in June of 2006. One thing led to another, and that tour program morphed into the Applications course, part of the Certificate in Sustainable Community Development at SFU offered through City Program. My tours project is one of many sustainability projects that were incubated at the Centre. The CSCD is celebrating 25 years this March and they will mark it with a bash they’re calling Step Up. Details below.

Step Up

SFU’s Centre for Sustainable Community Development turns 25 and it’s time to celebrate! Associates, advisors, alumni, staff, students, friends, and sustainable community developers are invited to an evening under the Big Top. Mix and mingle with new and old friends while enjoying entertainment from local musicians, spoken-word artists and inspirational sustainability thought leaders. This event is truly interactive so roll up your sleeves, participate in some carnival games and showcase gallery, make history in the photo-booth and partake in envisioning a sustainable future!
