My talented friend Megan made herself a retro style jacket and was looking for a crest to jazz up the front. She dug out her collection of Red Cross swim awards. I have mine somewhere too, just haven’t come across them yet in my ongoing clear out project. I have stumbled upon my collection of competitive swimming medals though and must remember to take a pic of them. If you’re looking for somewhere to recycle your hardware, Megan did some research and found this cool site called Medals4Mettle. They take medals from endurance race athletes (marathons and triathlons) and award them to kids and adults fighting serious illnesses like cancer. I love that friends and family are starting to share their collection stories with me.
