For those of you who live on the west side of Vancouver, a reminder that you can recycle all your “beyond the blue box” items like soft plastic wrap (cheese, pasta), foil (all those Miss Vickie’s chips bags), trays from the take-out, the plastic lids from all those pizzas you buy on 2 for 1 Tuesdays at Whole Foods, the plastic caps from pop bottles, tetra paks and many other what should I do with this? items. Pacific Mobile Depot has set up a location at Lord Byng Secondary School on the west side now. It costs a toonie or so to drop your recyclables, depending on how much you have. It happens on the third Saturday of the month from nine to noon. If you’re a Village Vancouver member you can drop it off at a specified location on the Thursday before, then they will take it to the depot on Saturday. This is a great service – and the volunteers (former Byng grads) are wonderful. Gather your recyclables and head over this Saturday. There are other depots around the lower mainland and Victoria too. Find one near you.
