Go Go to the VanDu Do

There’s nothing that says spring to me more than the annual VanDusen Plant Sale. Every year, ten thousand gardeners roll up with their wheelbarrows and then run through the gates of the beautiful botanical garden. They run because they want the pick of the best on offer, some of them are rare finds. There are over 40,000 plants on sale this year and each section will show off May flowerings. There’s a handy plant hold area if you want to fill your wheelbarrow or box, drop off, and then fill it again. Master gardeners and helpful volunteers will be on hand to answer questions too. And of course the event is set within one of the most beautiful places in the city, alive with spring colours and smells. I usually stay for lunch at the lovely on site Shaughnessy Restaurant too. This is VanDusen’s major fundraiser, so grab your best gardening friend and go, go.
