I spent the weekend with a friend at her place up at Whistler recently and came across her remote control collection. I’m sure we can all relate to this assortment. Every time I go home to my parents place, there is always confusion over which remote to use to turn on the TV, which one for the volume, and so it goes. Even though I have parted with my old DVD/VHS player and my ancient Sony Trinitron, I still have a remote for my new flat screen, one for the cable box, and one for my little JVC sound system (translation: radio and audio cassette player!). And that’s if I don’t count the remote in with the old DVD player I still have in a box ready for posting on Facebook Marketplace.
