I am a member of the Security & Sustainability Forum (SSF). Their tag line is: Convening Global Experts to Guide Decision Making. The public interest organization offers free webinars and radio shows on climate change, food and water security, public health, economic vitality and more. Their next webinar features none other than our own Deputy City Manager, Sadhu Johnston. For those of you who aren’t up on Johnston’s bio, it’s impressive. He was the Chief Environmental Officer for the City of Chicago and Deputy Chief of Staff to Mayor Daley before taking the Vancouver position. He’s also been extremely supportive of the food movement in this city.
Johnston will be talking sustainability leadership with Ed Saltzberg, the SSF’s Managing Director. During the 60 minute interview they will discuss Vancouver’s participation in The Urban Sustainability Directors Network (USDN) as well as The Guide to Greening Cities, co-authored by Johnston. Membership is free, but you do have to join to listen in, as well as register for the webinar. Kudos to our greenest city guy!
